Industry veteran to lead company’s acceleration into European market
LONDON — BrightRoll (http://www.brightroll.com), the leading provider of online video advertising services, opens its first European office in London with the launch of the BrightRoll Network along with the BrightRoll Exchange (BRX), providing unparalleled efficiency, automation and scale to buyers of online video advertising in the UK. Phil Cooper, who recently joined the company as European managing director, will oversee operations from the EU headquarters in London.
Online video advertising is now high on the agenda of importance for brands in Europe searching for scale and standardisation. BrightRoll brings the power of its industry-leading online video advertising network to the rapidly growing European market in its first fully fledged launch into Europe. With 3.3 million pre-roll ads served just weeks after launching UK operations, BrightRoll is already ranked 13th in the UK according to comScore’s March 2011 Video Metrix numbers. Advertisers will benefit from BrightRoll’s unmatched pool of premium, brand-safe inventory; sophisticated audience targeting capabilities; auction pricing; real-time reporting and campaign transparency. The company’s exchange (BRX) in particular has rapidly gained traction in the U.S. since it was first unveiled in August 2010, with more than $1M of inventory purchased in its first month alone.
“BrightRoll’s tenure and success in the U.S. have uniquely positioned us to thrive in Europe’s rapidly growing online video advertising marketplace,” said BrightRoll CEO Tod Sacerdoti. “Beginning with the UK, we look forward to bringing European advertisers the unprecedented scale, efficiency and ROI we’re known for in the U.S.”
Cooper, an industry veteran who founded Utarget, the UK’s first online video advertising network in 2005, will be heading up the strategy guiding BrightRoll’s continued European expansion. Cooper sold Utarget in 2008 to Fox Networks but stayed onboard to integrate the business across Newscorp’s global footprint of more than 30 countries. He most recently helped launch Havas’s Adnetik DSP into Europe in late 2009 before signing on with BrightRoll.
“BrightRoll has built a name for itself over the last five years as a leader in video advertising, underscored by its world-class technology, and its unwavering commitment to driving value for brands through unmatched transparency and championing industry standards,” said Cooper. “Expanding the company’s European footprint and giving advertisers access to both the BrightRoll Network’s and BRX’s unmatched capabilities is a natural next step, and one that is backed up by BrightRoll’s solid foundation in the US. We are especially committed to localising BrightRoll’s opportunity to the needs of our European clientele and unique market conditions and are excited for what the UK market holds.”
With more than 120 million monthly unique viewers worldwide, BrightRoll is the world’s largest and most trusted video ad network and the leading provider of online video advertising services. The BrightRoll Network has access to billions of video impressions per month enabling advertisers to execute smart online video campaigns across a massive pool of web and mobile video inventory. BrightRoll’s proprietary buying technology, combined with its full site disclosure, detailed performance reports and flexible targeting provide brands and agencies with the reach, frequency and scalability needed to achieve their campaign goals.
