Senior Product Manager

Brightroll is looking for an experienced senior product manager to drive the evolution and advancement of our video advertising platform. This role is critical to furthering the quality of service we provide our advertisers and publishers and enhancing BrightRoll’s competitive position. Our ideal candidate will bring proven product management skills and a solid understanding of online ad serving technology to our company.

This is a dynamic role in a rapidly growing company with excellent opportunity for career growth. It is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Product Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively work with internal teams (e.g., engineering, media, sales), partners and management to set product development priorities
  • Identify/gather product requirements and develop preliminary design concepts
  • Translate product requirements into marketing and functional specifications, and work closely with engineering to bring it all to life
  • Understand existing ad serving technologies and data systems with the goal of improving operational effectiveness; this would include driving improvements in data collection, structure, quality, and breadth
  • Lead outsourced design and engineering initiatives
  • Manage project schedules and dependencies, and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • Stay current with competitors and the online video advertising landscape; keep the company informed on key issues

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Passion for conceiving, designing, building, shipping and sustaining amazing products that work great the first time out the door
  • Three to five years experience in product management working directly with design and engineering teams
  • Experience in the online ad serving (or related) space is required
  • BS in technical or quantitative discipline; MBA a plus
  • Experience in managing aggressive and dynamic projects, with competing resources and priorities; firm sense of accountability and ownership for end-to-end product lifecycle with a demonstrated ability to drive product planning, development, and launch
  • Proven track record of preparing MRDs, PRDs, and FSDs based upon product- and market-driven requirements
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including contractors
  • Business mindset with a strong technical bent (software engineering background highly desirable)
  • Self-starter with the interest, ability and energy to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Killer written and verbal communications skills

Network Development Account Manager

The Network Development Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing key strategic partnerships already in place with the upper-most echelon of video-centric web publishers.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced relationship manager who can bring their business and partner development skills to BrightRoll to manage complex, revenue-focused partner relationships for our growing Media & Publishing team. In this high-visibility role you will be responsible for building and executing on account plans designed to maximize our revenue-generating publisher relationships.

You will report to and work with the VP, Network development to manage your publisher account list, including handling publisher inquiries, resolving concerns, and making outbound requests to publishers to further BrightRoll’s strategic initiatives (such as managing the rich media approvals process.) You’ll continue to educate prospects on the BrightRoll value proposition and set up meetings for the senior team. Additionally, you’ll attend prospect and client meetings and work as part of the Network Development team to help close prospects. You will assist in the contracts process (document comparisons, version control, trafficking changes to Legal and prospect, etc.). You’ll work closely with the media, sales and tech teams to help drive the business’ overall goals.

You will be responsible for helping to manage the publisher integration and rich media approval processes, working closely with the Media team, and you’ll put your analytical skills to work to ensure that these partners achieve specific objectives.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • BA/BS or equivalent required
  • High level of experience in partner management, strategic account management, and/or client-facing product management with an Internet or search company and understanding of online advertising, including paid search, contextual search, graphical and rich media advertising formats
  • Experience with Internet video a huge plus
  • Revenue focused, negotiation and analytical skills across contractual, technical and financial areas all pluses
  • High level of comfort escalating and presenting key deal issues to senior management
  • Strong understanding of and interest in the impact of Internet technologies on consumption of media across the US. EMEA experience a plus.
  • Track record of excellent partner communication and presentation skills and ability to quickly understand contracts with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness and desire to be a key individual contributor and strong team player

Senior Software Engineer

BrightRoll is looking for a solid, energetic Senior Software Engineer to work on some important adserver technology. We have a small, agile engineering team in the financial district of San Francisco. This person would report to the CTO.

Here are some questions to ask before reading on:

Do you know HTTP extremely well?
Do you know when to use the right language for the right problem?
Have you worked with large data sets?
Have you built many server apps in your career?

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 2+ Years of professional experience
  • Solid network/socket programming skills
  • Solid Java (Scala), C/C++ Programming skills
  • Solid Dynamic Language skills (Ruby, Python, PHP, Erlang)
  • Solid Unix API skills
  • Solid persistence/database fundamentals and experience
  • Multiple “start to finish” product development experiences

Sales Engineer

BrightRoll is looking for a Sales Engineer. You will work with many groups of the company on revenue generating projects. If you can be a great ‘face of the company’, we’ll give you the tools to succeed. This person would report to the CTO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The right candidate must have excellent communication and presentation skills to both business and technical customers. This person should be able to handle multiple client communications and relationships in a professional manner without much supervision. This role is also hands on, so the candidate should be able to organize and implement multiple projects to great customer satisfaction. This job should not require any travel and will only be at our headquarters in downtown San Francisco.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent
  • 1+ Years of professional experience
  • Good understanding of HTML, XML, and web technologies
  • Should be productive with Unix
  • Should be productive with SQL, Databases
  • Should know PHP or other language
